Can you believe this?(looong rant with a point)

Check out these TIBURON (oh my god I don't drive one and I actually spelled it right) guys freaking out going ape**** over a vibe beating one of their cheaply made inefficient(62hp per litre vs 100hp per litre, 26mpg vs 35mpg) cars. At one point one of them says they would rather own a V6 Tib than a "noisy" four cylinder even if it is slower. Thats right, they would rather have a slower car, with terrible gas mileage, without even a hint of the reliability and respect that toyota has established over years and years and years of production, all because they think it looks like a minivan, which unequivocally results in "POS" status. They even go so far as to put the effort into getting some of their friends to go on to the vibe owners cardomain page and lower his rating substantially, out of nothing but pure spite and hatred, they don't even know the vibe driver. While a rating on a car site is not a big deal to me, the fact that someone would go out of their way to TRY and hurt someone else because they have different taste disgusts me. So basically what it boils down to is a bunch of guys, irritated that their "real car" is slower than a "minivan" go on ranting and raving about their ego's, constantly validating their comments with "my mom/grandma drives one of those", and never "I smoked/outran one of those no problem". Thats because regardless of what their limited intelligence believes, our engines are not weak or slow just because they are in a body that could in some way be recognized as a minivan (which usually it is not, it is just more degrading to say so, which reduces their argument to nothing more than immature name calling in an attempt to cut down other people and glorify their super cool looking cars). Which is funny, I wonder if even a small percent of them know that their CAR NAME LITERALLY MEANS SHARK IN SPANISH, and that is what their design developed from, etymologically resulting in a shark looking car that is probably regarded as ugly by just as many if not more people than ours is. Regardless, (I say this on purpose, because while in the opening post the tiburon owner uses the vibe owners misspelling of tiburon to undeniably establish our ignorance, while later on one of their own members completely makes up a word: "IRREGARDLES" is not a freaking word, and at that its an attempt at an english word rather than a spanish one) its seems that while most of them will not admit it, the numbers are invariably on our side, for christ's sake they use the 2zz in a lotus, they know our cars are faster, therefore resulting in the malicious minivan comments (even a movie of one to show how ridiculous our whole predicament is), which are the only bad comments THEY CAN make. There is no refuting the functionality of our cars over one of their little sharks, and I have said this a million times, you can make ANYTHING go fast if you have the money and the desire. Our cars get so much better gas mileage with more horsepower OFF THE LOT that these people should be embarrassed at their puny and immature comments. This is really just me ranting myself...the vindictive nature of these people really set me off, its just a damn car , but if owning one of those is going to turn me into a peon from sheer exposure to the attitudes thus shown then f tiburon. I know these few peoples comments can hardly represent everyone in the community, but never before have I experienced such malicious stipulation...and thats just it, uneducated stipulation. The difference is that on the genvibe forum someone would have surely stepped in and brought some rationality to the situation, sorry guys im really fuming over this, as it has completely drained me of any respect I had for these people. I really am disgusted, but my post does have a point, "one" of their people had the audacity to say that "There site's like a bunch of geeks who's grandmothers died and left them vibes" and "cant wait till this gets brought up on their forums...lol", and since I was quite thoroughly enraged at this point, I decided take it upon myself to bring it up. Well, they've shown their stripes. You might ask them though if looks are so important over performance, why they spend any money on performance mods and bother racing. In any case, don't get upset over this. tiburons are a different class of car than a Vibe. No problem. I think the most amusing thing about it all is people on different forums getting upset, as if they had actually suffered physical damage because some stranger disrespected their car. If we all had the same preference in automobiles, it would be pretty hard to find yours in the parking lot.I test drove a tiburon when I was looking for a car, it was pretty cool, but I never really considered buying one because of the MPG ratings. I don't care that it is a Hyundai. (except the low number of US jobs involved in its production and sale) If I wanted a racing car, it wouldn't be a Vibe or a Tiburon.We can be arrogant asterisks here as well, if we've a mind to. wow, that thread that was started on the Tiburon website got pretty heated. lol. I agree with what everyone has said that they were just a bunch of strangers lacking any sort of intelligence.the whole time I read their thread, and all of the nasty posts they left on NitroVibeGT's cardomain, I was thinking one thing mainly, "Is it that hard for someone to understand that people have different tastes?" Yeah, no reason to get upset over their BS. Afterall, it's hard to raise any sort of reasonable defense over "That car sux0rs Lolololol" (not a direct quote)Personally? I think the Tiberion (purposeful) is designed to be a car for teenagers that want something 'cool' for their parents to buy for them. Honestly, I think it's as much of a 'girlie' car as the Celica's and Eclipses were considered back in '98. (Not kidding)But what the hell? I bought a Vibe because it offered power and space. Something that I dearly cherished from my long gone Probe (which I do miss dearly). I don't think the Tiburon can offer that. Not to mention that around here, there's quite a few of them that look like they were trying to make them Civics.I say 'eh, whatever'. The cars are in two different classes. Ever seen the show "Pimp My Ride"? U think anyone cares about what kind of car they're driving? no. And I know this is probably true for pretty much everyone here, so here it is. All of the mods that I have done on my Vibe are for my own personal pleasure and because I enjoy it. I'm not trying to go enter my car in a show or compete with anyone elses car. I'm modding it because I enjoy doing that and it's a hobby. And it's irrelevant to what type of car it is. I like it, and there's nothing wrong with it in my mind. And when it comes to judging other people cars and their tastes, I would never make fun of them for it. Because I know that they too, are doing something that they enjoy and appreciate, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Very well said tcam, I totally agree with you, and now that I have had some time to cool off I can get the keys back to my gunsafe...lol just kidding. I think the thing that irritated me the most was how mean and rude those people were over something so trivial. Yes, people have their own tastes and opinions, its called free will. Why do people go so far out of their way just to *******ize another’s opinion about a car?! Its an automobile that gets you were you need to go so who cares, whats the point in being a complete jerk about it and trying to make others feel bad? Anyway thats what really got to me, I realize that people do get their kicks from hurting others, it just makes me mad to see it, especially when its directed towards the least malicious of people. I really am just a young peace loving college hippy, but also an aspiring law student, so oftentimes my writing sounds a bit extreme and maybe over the top, but when I get worked up it just goes how it wants, I dont want to be seen as an extremist or a spaz, my anger was gone after only an hour, writing is just my way to vent, and I knew that I would have someone here to confide in.
