Guages questions

Post by Mrizzle05 »

Just wondering about the size and type of gauges people here have used.Im thinking of doing a guage project next... that way it will take a while and be interesting on what i can come up with.So which guages would be the most common to get... air/fuel-temp..etc.I was browsing ebay and seen color changing ones for about 50-ish a pop! but autometer CF are like 80.1. what sizes would i wanna use.2. what kind metric or digital?3. What kinds, air/fuel... so on?Any input is welcome... xcept drunken!!! i know you

Perhaps I'm wrong though (it happens frequently).Well, you have a base Vibe so the gauges I think would be appropriate would be a stoichiometry gauge (air/fuel), and maybe an oil pressure gauge.Being an engineer, I think it would be cool to see an intake air flow gauge (CFM) or an intake temperature gauge since you have the CAI. But we have the thermometer on the dash that basically tells you that temperature...Maybe a tranny temp gauge? I think it'd be sweet to have an mpg gauge like BMW's do...Maybe a fuel pressure (or flow) gauge? There are just so many that could be seen as fun/interesting...that is why I got the AutoTap - I'm too much of an engineer and love data. I just data log all day long on my car....

I was looking at obviously air/fuel. I was also thinking maybe oil temp and the tranny temp sounds cool. but i want the easiest ones to install as well.I was lookin on ebay and they have some that are 7 color glow gauges. i want them to work of course but its mostly for style.

Unfortunately, the computer doesn't send information on fuel pressure (FPR) or intake manifold pressure (MAP). What's an AutoTap?
