Why did you get a Montana??? As far as I'm concerned it's not the best minivan on the market to put it lightly.. Why not a Honda Odysee (sp) for example?

Maybe its not really a minivan?lol sorry I had to. typical GM quality now, you buy a new vehicle and its in the shop getting warranty work done, then when warranty runs out the problems seem to stop.

Maybe it was dirt cheap after rebates, GM Card earnings etc.. Or maybe the salesman had "pictures" , , ,

Yeah, good point about the rebates. The reason I ask is because for a similar price you can get a much better built car.

I hate to hear the news man. That pretty much sucks! Did you take anything from the Vibe and put it in this thing, perhaps some bad carma transferred over? It sounds to me though, like these are minor "glitches" that they may be able to easily resolve. Yes, it is a load of crap that they slipped through the cracks at QC, but if these things can be addressed by a simple tweak here, a new part there - give that a shot before writing it off. Maybe it could turn out to be alright in the long run. My sister had a similar experience with her '03 Venture with less than perfect initial quality, it had a check engine light the day after she bought it, then had a screwy power door, and a water leak around the rear window. But that stuff was fixed and she's had decent luck out of it ever since. As far as the paint goes, what sort of flaws are you seeing? If it is serious enough, can you investigate the possibility of getting it covered under warranty? Here, GM gives you 12 months/12,000 miles on the paint, I would assume GM Canada is similar. Are they major spots, or just a bubble here and some orange peel there? Hang in there, see what you can get done before you drive yourself crazy.

Lots of reasons price being the first reason(4,000 off list) second gm discount ,third gst discount(CDN) fourth visa points and last i got rid of the vibe for a good price(trade).I like the GM vans because of the short wheel base model we get but the US doesn't.The daughter loves the DVD player makes for quiet trips. As far as the little problems Gm needs to do more QC I know the problems are minor but still its a new vehicle. The Honda van is nice but way over priced.
