I replacement the damaged one with another AEM filter (wet gauze) months ago, before they introduced their Dryflow filters.Anyway, I've been thinking about switching to a dry filter, and saw that AMSoil just came out with their Ea filters. They have one that matches stock Injen/AEM specs @ 5" high element, 5" top diameter. HOWEVER, they also have one with a 4" top diameter. Sooooo, I've decided to give the 4"'er a try to see if this resolves our foglight-CAI issues, hoping the slightly narrower top will give just a tad more clearance.I will post pics and report back asap .

With a preferred customer membership ($20 for 1 year), the discounted price is something like $37. They're rated as a lifetime filter, just need to clean it every 25k-35k miles (vacuum or forced air), just like any other a/m air filter. No soap, water or re-oiling though It just arrived, so I'll take some pics of it when I get home

Nice. I got the AEM DryFlow filter and it's just nice not to have to deal with that oil crap. I got an increase in performance for mine. Paid like 30~$ from NeverEnuf for it.

so, does that big bad blue mofo actually fit into the are where the inlet is? it looks awful big.FYI for those who have the injen CAI, our filters are the same ones used on the GTI. tiny little turds.

The good news -- no rubbing against the foglight! The bad news -- the inlet is a little bit wider than AEM's, which meant I had to tighten the clamp a bit more. It fits nice and snug, very tight fit now, but I was a little concerned because the end of the inlet - before the clamp seals it off - has a slight gap between it and the CAI tube, something like 1/8 of an inch or less. I can guarantee that nothing would be able to fall into the filter because the seal is very tight. However, to prevent any possible accumulation of dirt, which could fall into the filter when I remove it (for cleaning), I wrapped the little gap in duct tape . I took side-by-side pics of both filters to show the size difference, will post tonight.
