Less than 3 hours until I'm... 30!

Yup, the big "three-oh" is upon me. Last night my hubby, my best friend and another friend arranged a surprise party for me at Red Lobster. My friends and I went to get pedicures in the afternoon and last time we did that we went out to dinner after with our spouses. So we had planned the same this time (or so I thought). We got to Red Lobster and my friend says "Table for 12." I'm thinking to myself "Did she just say 12??" and at that moment, a coworker arrived behind me at the door and says Happy Birthday! So needless to say I was quite surprised. But that wasn't the end of their surprises. After dinner they took me out for pool and more people showed up for that. They also had birthday cake for me. I was quite touched, and quite happy as I'd never, in my life, had a surprise party before. Tonight my hubby gave me one of my gifts as he couldn't hide it - a 35 bottle wine cooler. Oh man that is sweet especially now that I've started bottling my own wine and have about 100 bottles in the basement. It is black and has a glass door with an interior light. It sits almost as tall as the kitchen counter that its next too.

man i dreaded approaching 30 and i swore i'd fight it kicking and screaming. well as it turned out i didn't have to do the kicking and screaming after all because my 8 week old daughter did it for me then. remember the old saying never trust anyone over 30? that includes you now bwahahahaha. don't worry tho, i haven't trusted myself for over a year now! happy happy b-day tho and enjoy the day.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I had a good birthday. Besides my surprise party on Saturday night, my hubby and best friends took me to lunch at our favorite restaurant today, where the waitress put a sparkler in my cake and took a polaroid (which is now in my cube at work) photo. My hubby also gave me a cookbook that I wanted and Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0!
