Tranny Swap??!!

Post by Vibeguy07 »

Hi, I was wondering about swapping my auto tranny on my '03 Base Vibe for a 5 speed and was wondering if anyone knew about how much it would cost or if there was any way to maybe just drop a GT motor in my base and go with the 5 speed standard still?? I dont know a whole lot about motors so any advice would help. Thanks

yeah its usually not worth trying to install a manual into a auto for the time/money would be more than trading the car in for a manaulif your looking for a stronger tranny, level10 makes "bullet proof" trannies to 500hp or parts to make your own. Lancer had a local shop do a custom made torque converter and adjustable performance shift/rebuild kit, and his should be good for 500hp I think he said. that is something i will prolly do if i supercharge.

It would be cool to have a 2zz engine and a 5 speed. But it will cost A LOT OF MONEY! Easily over $10 grand. So if you have that sorta money to blow then get a 2jz or a V-8 and stuff it in there! You would be God in this domain.
