ventshades

Post by mikeray1949 »

I am thinking of buying the stick on vent shades. I live in Montreal where it can get pretty damn cold in the winter. Has anybody ever had them fall off?

I have them here in Minnesota and I have had no problems with mine even when it was -20°F. I pulled on one pretty hard the other day just to see how they were doing and I don't think I could even pull them off if I tried. I have had mine on for over a year so far. I have the GM brand ventshades that I got from Ebay.

BC do yours go on the outside of the window or in the window slot?

I just got the weathertech ventshades. Very easy install. They just get wedged into the window well. And they blend into the tinted windows perfectly. Sometimes you can't tell their on.

I thought about those but last I checked they were hella expensive. Close to $200 for front and back. Whereas the GM accessories guards were $50 for the whole set. (I hope Im talking about the same thing)

Do those things really make that much of a difference? I could see them helping with shade a lot, but do they block the wind better?

Im not sure if they were designed to block wind when your windows are open but they are great for cracking your windows and not letting rain get in.

I had the ventshades on my sable and taurus so I could crack them during rain and when I didnt want that much wind noise on the highway but some fresh air. I want to get some, but I never liked the ones that stick on the outside as much as the ones lancer has...but yea they are expensive for those non sticky ones.

The thing about the sticky ones is that the outer rim of the window frame is perfect for it as it has a large black gap. So its not like you are putting it on clearcoat.

yea it goes on the trim stuff, its not really that its the ones that go into the window look more "clean" than the outside ones.

I had the ventshade ones on my 98 Grandprix I loved them. I only paid about $50.00 for them. I live in Minnesota and the winters are very cold and the summers are very hot. Being able the crack the windows whenever I wanted was great.I was looking into getting some on the vibe and after looking around I think the Weathertechs shades are a better product. One you can get them in clear or smoky color, two you still get the benifit of cracking your windows whenever and they are 100% removeable!!!With the ventshades you get to put them on once with 3M tape and I never had a problem with them falling off, But others I talked to did!!!Weathertech Or Ventshades?http://www.weathertech.com/sto..._id=0h ... 35.htm?439
