There is an article in this months popular mechanics that tells how to clean your mass air sensor on page 105 of the august 2006 issue.

Ok, Thanks. What does it say? Can you scan and post it?I would recommend brake cleaner or MAF sensor cleaner. (both are sprays)

It basically said to spray it off with the MAS cleaner. ( You can use the other stuff also but it cautions you about melting the plastic parts) It also tell about the natural cycle they have to clean themselves. They have a regular self cleaning cycle where the wire element in them heats up to burn off the crud. They say this happens after you turn off the car every so often.

my MAF sensor cleaner didnt melt my plastic thankfully but it seemed more like rubbing alcohol..but a little stronger.

The article did recommend the MAS cleaner over other solvents due to the MAS cleaner would not eat the plastic
