Warranty Question (yes, I did my search) Evidence of mods

Yes. I searched. I read it.In one post, the delear let it go as long as the stock parts were put back. That make sense. As long as it appears to be stock, they can claim warranty with GM.My question is: What if there is evidence that appear to be modified.Example. If I weld the stock exhaust pipe back. You can see the pipe was cut, and welded back. Even if I have the stock muffler back on, they can see that it was altered.Can they deny warranty based on evidence of being modified, that can't be hide?

If it was GM directly who was dealing with the situation, they would probably deny any warranty repairs on that part of the car. Otherwise, it's up to the dealer and what they wish to choose to tell GM, and whether or not they want to do the work even though there is obvious evidence of mods.

i read the warranty manual. You can mod the car, but they should be only able to deny warranty if the part you modified caused the problem you are taking your car in to get fixed under warranty. For example if you install a magnaflow exhaust and then your cars transmission breaks, the tranny should be covered, unless in some crazy way they can show how the magnaflow damaged the tranny which idk how they could, would be a case. But if the dealer refuses you can always contact the higher ups or go to a diff dealer. but they have to be able to prove the mod caused the problem.
