Ragingfish has fallen ill -- to the modding bug!

Post by ragingfish »

That's right folks.I finally broke down yesterday and did a couple of modifications to my beloved G6. You'll note the only "significant" mod I had done to date was the installation of an electronic deer and small animal repellent device. Well, yesterday, I said, "time to make this G6...MINE!"The mods performed?* Installation of first -- of 3 planned -- HID conversion kits in the low beams.* Replacement of 2005 whimpy badging with robust 2006+ metal badging.* Installation of Grafxwerks overlays on new badging. Here are some highlight photos from the day: Low and high beams together - Stock bulbs Close up on low and high beams together - Stock bulbs Front fascia removedHID ballast installedHID capsule installed in headlamp assemblyLow beam and high beams together - HID low, stock highClose up on low beam and high beams together - HID low, stock highFactory "2005-style" nameplatesNotice the lack of "depth" to the plate, which results in them being brittle and breakableNew "2006-style" nameplatesBlack reflective grafxwerks overlays installed on new badging - black by day:Black reflective grafxwerks overlays installed on new badging - white by night:And to round out the week, I had ordered a K&N drop in filter which is, according to UPS, out for delivery, so that will be installed today!YAY for the modding bug!

It looked like for a while you had gone into remission, but apparently, this relapse proves that the mod bug is a terminal disease...Make sure your girlfriend rides with protection so you don't transmit the mod-bug to her too...Lol, I'm just kidding. It looks great Mike! I love the look of the HID...

Upgrade your fog lamp bulbs with 50W bulbs bought at the local auto store...I have done this to all my GM cars that is if the fogs do not use the same bulb as say the Vibe does, that larger bulb. I am assuming your fogs are like my Vettes and use the smaller bulbs that are less wattage from GM. The hotter bulb does not effect the lamp and I have done this mod to my 1998 Z24 fogs when I had it as well...Check into it!

The fogs use H11 bulbs, same as the headlamps.I plan to convert them to HID eventually.

A simple set of last-century curb feelers will do the job just pimptastic!http://www.miata.net/skidmarks...1.jpgh ... htmlYou'll hear those babies scrapin' up against the curb and that will be enough.
