Thinkin about the valentine radar detector???

Post by Mrizzle05 »

Friend told me about this and how its better then most other detectors.I would like one for myself considering it pretty much costs as much as a ticket! Its 400 bucks, but it detects all around and tells you which way.Anyone have this or tried it.... how did you like it.https://store.valentine1.com/store/

I've had the Valentine detector permanently mounted since November. I also permanently installed the Bel RX65 (arguably the best of the Bel line) in my other car. It mounts nicely just above and to the left of the rear view mirror. The shady "dots" above the mirror don't seem to effect performance. The highly prefer the Valentine over my Bel. Not just because of the arrows, but because it is the only detector with separate rear laser and radar sensors. The mount is of much higher quality too. It's also more programmable than most other detectors.Don't let the $400 price keep you away. You're not just paying for a detector. You're paying for a 1yr free repair/replacement warranty and a lifetime repair/upgrade warranty. If you ever decide to sell it, the V1 has the highest resale value compared to MSRP on the market. The only thing about the V1 though is it takes a little more to learn about. You'll need to find out what speed detection bands are used and not used in your area and program the V1 accordingly. Otherwise, due to its high sensitivity, will detect any object using police band radar. That includes door openers, etc. I know that CHP use Ka. Some local PD use Ka laser, and maybe K band.Once you get it programmed though and learn the different alerts, you'll never be able to go with anything else.

The V1 is good, imo im going to get a escort passport 8500 x50. It is $100 cheaper and both offer 360 degree protection. Both are tested to be the best on the market. the V1 is real ugly imo though i think they need to update the look :s

V1 is def. worth its money, especially if you get the one that can also deflect their radar, its great to pass a cop and watch him get dumbfounded and start playin with his gun when it won't read your car.

My family has used Escorts since the first Passport was released. I currently have the Escort 7000 in my car, my father has the first version Solo. There's always a debate about which one is better. It's like Mac vs. PC (but not really).I've read reports favoring either, but I think, for the money, the Escort is the better deal. All you seem to get out of the Valentine detector are the 'arrows', and honestly, I don't care which direction it's coming from as long as it warns me.Not saying the V1 is crap. They're both good detectors.Sooo..in conclusion, I say Escort.
