prolly is true cuz all of GM cars are v6 and up... big gas guzlers... so when using a toyota enigne they tried to keep up with the market. but why are they getting rid of it..Oh wait like the article said... "EGO"Corporate sucks!!! JMO

Interesting article. I've had this thought in my mind about why GM wasn't really advertising or showcasing the Vibe due to its Toyota internals.I was however recently told that the Vibe will be around for awhile. They are working on the 2009 Vibe redesign so I don't believe it's going away anytime soon, however you never really know 100%.

The site you linked to also says that they are now splitting ways.If the posted artivle is true, GM seems determined to keep pounding nails in its own coffin.

Gee, if GM needed to feed their hunger for bad press so bad, they should have just come here and read my posts in Problems & Warranty Issues from my ol' Vibe. Yeah, none of this really surprises me. Stick a fork in it, the Vibe's done.Hate to sound negative, but I call it honest.

Quote, originally posted by northvibe »i dont think its done i thought they were redesigning it for 08?yeah that seems to be the general consensus, that it will be redesigned for 08. and i do remember hearing that toyota will have a hand in it. we'll see. but the article does make sense if gm plans the redesign by itself. then they can make it all theirs. personally, so what if its a joint venture. if its a good car, its a good car. i think we've evolved enough from the hunched over cromagnons who think the only good car is a 100% american car. CP,you continue to kill me!!!!

Maybe GM convinced all the NUMMI folks who make Vibes to take early retirement, thus solving the 'Not Invented Here' problem once and for all.
