I have to rant. Not about my G6.About new car ownership in general.Since I got my car in October, the FIRST thing I've been looking to do is upgrade the headlights. Granted, I have an HID kit sitting on my shelf awaiting installation. But it's far too time consuming, and that crazy GM databus system makes me hesitant to install them because they might not work. Despite my historical experiences with the dual-filament silverstars, I never really had a problem with my turn signals or fogs. Seeing how the G6 uses independent capsules for low and high beams, I figure silverstars are a relatively safe investment. BUT...the G6 uses H9 and H11 style bulbs...sizes that are so new to the market, they don't even MAKE aftermarket bulbs. Hell, I haven't even seen traditional xtravision or other traditional replacement halogens. It's annoying as all hell. I can't even get wiper blades anywhere outside the dealer because the G6 uses an atypical connector for the blades. It's not a huge deal, but y'all know me and my quest for total vehicle satisfaction. And the lack of availability of aftermarket replacement parts hinders my efforts.I just had to rant. Thanks for listening.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Sounds like the same frustrations that everyone had/has with the Vibe as well (as you know from first-hand experience). Unfortunately we just have to wait and see what happens... I guess that is expected when you have something that is brand new. Thanx for the rant... I feel your pain.

just thought I would pass along my initial misunderstanding. posts here in 'the others" are about non-vibe cars, often breaking news about new and upcoming models, and I thought you were going to give us our first news of the new Pontiac Rant. I guess you did, in a way They are selling a ton of G6's though, many more per month than Vibes, so your aftermarket parts will be there before ours.

It almost seems like people don't want to make them for GM vehicles anymore outside things like the Cavalier and Cobalt, and maybe an S10.

I'm sure it's a conundrum too for designers - do they try to improve something which results in non-standard parts, or go with the same-old but parts are easier to get and less expensive?

another point to consider: browse for AM parts for any pontiac besides the sunfire. (because it's a cavi) there aren't really many there. the only reason us vibers have parts is because it's a toyota.hey man, at least you have a car that's pretty sweet right off the assembly line!
