It is no longer necessary to charge the customer for the repair and refer them to the ACDelco® Customer Assistance Line (1-800-ACDelco) for reimbursement. The present guidelines for ACDelco® battery warranty coverage contained within the General Motors Service Policies and Procedures Manual, Article 1.5.11, page 31, have been modified as follows:g. The date code is located on the warranty insert attached to the battery. A copy of the original parts invoice or repair order must be attached to the warranty repair order and maintained with the VIN history file. Policies contained within the General Motors Service Policies and Procedures Manual, Article 1.6.2, "Policies Applicable To All Repair Order System," Item h., "GM Service Replacement Part Warranties," apply. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information. WE SUPPORT VOLUNTARY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION © Copyright General Motors Corporation. What is it that a policy bulletin for all GM vehicles that have a replacement battery failure have to do anything?

So what does all this mean? Are GM Canada customers getting the thick end of the stick again? Why does the heading say Hummer H2?Can we pop in and get a new beefier battery upon request? What kind of bug is that on my leg?

gm's aware that batteries are failing early. its simply a technical service buliten. your battery has to fail, and then gm will replace it right away.

It is not a technical bulletin. Your SECOND battery failure is now eligable to be handled by a GM dealer instead of an AC-Delco authorized serive outlet.

It gives me great comfort knowing that if my battery fails and strands me, that I might THEN be able to get it replaced under warranty. NOT! When it starts getting weak(er), I'll replace it at the drop of a hat.

All this means is that if you buy a replacement AC-Delco battery from either a GM Dealer or an ACDelco battery distributor and it fails and causes damage to other parts of the vehicle the dealer won't make you pay for the repairs to the damaged parts and then get reimbursed. They will handle the process and get reimbursed by AC-Delco. It's just less hastle is all.
