Hello, I am new here. I have had my vibe for a year now. I was wondering where I could find some good performance parts that don't require a lot of work to install. I have a 2005 base vibe, and have to take it to work everyday. I can't have anything that will require my car to be down for very long. By the way, picture are coming and I love the cars on this site. Thanks.

Probably the simplest performance part you could get is a K&N air filter. I just installed one this weekend - it's like a 15min job.

welcome! and the answer to you, Dans, is no. it would NOT be a short ram. the filter box itself is extremely restrictive. the hose that connects to the filter box allows cool air to flow in. for the most performance b/w CAI or SR, the CAI will always be the better choice. Cold air coming into the engine is good. Short ram brings in warm air (from the engine bay). it alleviates a lot of the air flow restrictions so it still adds performance but it's not as good as a CAI.panel filters are much better than the stock paper ones. it allows better flow but it still won't beat a SR or CAI.
Welcome to GenVibe!+1 on K&N air filter. Inexpensive and quick. Not as much performance improvement as a cold air intake, but a good investment nonetheless. Also consider a rear anti-sway bar. Hotchkis and Progress make good ones and the install takes less than an hour. Definitely tightens up the rear suspension.
Welcome! The K&N: I've got one and can't vouch for any performance increase, but the install takes 5 minutes. Plus, they are "lifetime" filters, which is why I bought mine.
