Tonight my Check Engine Light came on. I have the Injen CAI and Magnaflow exhaust. The conditions around here today was that it rained and I went to the car wash. When I left to go to my destination it was off, but after about 3 hours, I got back in the car and the light came on. Anyone have any ideas?????
you didn't run into any deep puddles did you? well it is quite difficult to suck up any water through the intake since the vibe has such high ground clearance unless you took the short cut through the lake.hehe.seriously...that's strange....an 06 and CEL came on. you could take it to the dealer, but if they confirm that the modifications caused the problem; i.e. hydrolock or maybe an oxygen sensor due to the exhaust install, you might be facing penalties.try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery to reset the ecu. other that that i cant help much since i dont have experience with cars. its a learning experience, but fun nonetheless. yeee haw!
i think you just remove the wire connected to the negative terminal. wait a few seconds then reconnect. (digital clock time should have changed as there was no power). can anyone else confirm? i may be wrong
I would take it to an AutoZone if available and get the code read first (for free,) before yanking the battery cable... Otherwise, you'll never know the source of the failure for certain. While removing the battery cable (I'd say leave it off for a few minutes to be safe, but a minute or so may work) could help in the meantime.... I wouldn't rely on removing the battery cable as a source of resolution, as if this condition is serious enough you'll see the light yet again down the road. It could be nothing, or it could be something, hard to say without having the codes read...

Ok, here is the deal. Apparently the code for this problem was 2440. The secondary Air Injection Valuve was stuck open. The code was cleared and all is good.I think I knew when this happened. I was going from 1st to 2nd at about 7K RPM and the secondary cam kicked in. At the time I was shifting into second, there was a "hic-up" in the system. I think this hicup was when the valve was stuck open. Even though the valve was closed, it still registered the CEL.
glad to hear your problem is gone. where did you get your cai and exhaust?? is it a true cai or just a short-ram??
