Cladding repair

Post by vibrtor »

Has anyone tried any repair work on the grey cladding? I have some gouges and scuffs from the previous owner that I'd like to fix. And what paint do I use to refinish it.

It's not painted so I don't know how you would fix it. There was a thread about fixing a door panel with a filler type putty I think. That would be the closest thing & probly cheapest way to go (if it works for the cladding too)On the other hand you could just get all the cladding painted whatever color you wanted (like I plan to.... eventually) I don't think you can get them identical to the stock gray tho if you just want ot paint it like thatGood luck on fixing it

I really don't want to paint all of the cladding - I like the tutone. I've done a lot of body repair in the past and fixing the blems on the rear bumper and lr quarter is not a problem. What is a problem is matching the color. I don't believe there's a GM color code for the unpainted cladding.
