I had no intention of buying another GM vehicle after my previous troubles with Chevy. I own a Nissan Xterra and love it. I was looking at the Toyota RAV 4 and Honda CRV. I couldn't get a deal on a new model and contemplated 2004 models. I took a look at the Matrix but the stupid Toyota salesman was pushing the RAV4.The next day I spoke to my mechanic. He educates me on the Vibe (I wanted a Toyota engine) I drive my vehicles for 10 years or until they nickel & dime me. I test drive the Vibe and take it up a steep slow grade hill which I must drive everyday. I guess I was too overjoyed and amazed at the 1.8 power as the dealer attempted to give me nothing for my trade in. I go a mile and a half down the road to the next Pontiac Dealer, told the salesman what I want to finance and he gives me a monthly payment speech. Frustrated I drive home a different way and pass the old Chevy dealership which is now a Pontiac dealership (part of a bigger franchise). It's about an hour to closing time. I tell the salesman what I want and what I'm paying and that I don't want a salespitch. The salesman says "I'll do you better" and he directed me to the front wheel drive. Beautiful test drive and it satisfies my driving purposes, plus I have a lot of nice features (don't need a six disc CD changer, can only play one at a time). Salesman says we have 8 AWD & 3 FR drives, pick your vehicle. I chose a front-wheel drive black Vibe. I ended up buying the extended warranty and clearcoat finnish back to my original price. The salesman & dealer didn't get the big commission the other two Pontiac dealerships and other mentioned companies wanted, but this dealership is going to sell some cars, word of mouth is the best advertising. 26 MPG in city for the first half tank of gas. The salesmanager told me I would have gotten the same treatment at any of the 4 dealerships in the area. Maybe GM needs to look at how these folks do business. I had the money for a higher class vehicle, but it wasn't what I was looking for. My Vibe is practical, and affordable and I like it just as much as my Xterra.

Welcome! I have to say I was pretty happy with my dealership, but then the owner of it was a friend of teachers, so he helped me out because my mom was a local teacher.Ended up walking in with a list of VINs and saying 'Get me one of these'I bet that was one of the quicker sales..
2003 Vibe GT Lava"He inched his way up the corridor as if he would rather be yarding his way down it.""For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen." - Douglas Adams...we all miss you
One thing I have noticed about Vibe owners is that we all seem to be more educated than most. We know what we want, we know what we will not compromise with, and we all REALLY appriciate what the Vibe has to offer. It only gets better my friend, it only gets better!
it seems that there are alot of folks who would never look at the vibe, but once they sit inside and take it for a spin, they're sold.welcome to genvibe!enjoy the ridepost pics!

welcome. glad you like your vibe. most of us knew a lot more about the car than the salesmen. however, i was not aware (when they first came out) it was a toyota engine. my family salesman informed me of this since he knew i only wanted to buy another toyota coming from my 01 Tundra 4x4 truck. i still miss my vibe gt.
Welcome and Congrats on your new Vibe!! My Mom & I bought FROSTY in April, and my NEPTUNE should be here next month. These cars are so cool, aren't they? Practical, affordable and fun!
Welcome, Mine was a similar story, three dealers later and the forth one was a pleasure to deal with, so I made the deal. GM should look hard at how the dealership treat the customers, brand loyalty is a thing of the past. JM
