Lately, I have picked up a copy or two of turbo magazine as well as other car magazines, And I have seen mentioned cars that have been set up with duall F/I of some sort. A twin turbo set up: Either with two same size turbos...usually on an opposed engine... or a sequential set up--a little turbo for quick spool up , then a large turbo for the high end power..A supercharger, turbo setup:the same idea as the sequential turbo, except that it is the SC for the low end grunt , and the turbo for more high end... ... and then ther is always adding nitrous to a turbo set up.Anyway, I have never seen a car set up this way nor driven one...was wondering if anyone had any 1st hand experience ..or any other input?

my nos kit is on the way and i will be getting the supercharger so mabey i'll have the first twin charged vibe. on a related note almost half the cars in import tuner or superstreet have turbos and nos(usually 100 shot direct port) with no internal mods.showoffs and posers!!! if you got it use it.im going internals and everything neccessary to smoke a neon srt-4( my car's self proclaimed enemy) from what i read in the mags and other forums.small shots actualy help cool superchargers like ours and add power.but as for turbos a turbo on our car isnt going to be big enough so that it would need nos to help spool up.just get a upgraded turbo with external wastegates so you can add a boost controller to crank it up and dont waste money on nos.then theres that nx n-tercoller thingy rant rant rant rant rant rant rant..........

also most twin turbos are ripped out in favor of large single. or two medium turbos usually non sequential.however we are not driving supras so if your asking in reference to a vibe,all this stuff im talking about will requires to many mods to be worth it(standalone engine managment .bigger and or altered intecooler and fuel systems etc...).of course all my info comes from personal opinion which comes from my hundreds of issues of sport compact car,supersreet,import tuner, hot compacts and imports,and import racer! and hundred of hours of the web. (my wife is asking me at this very moment who did i marry... her... or my car, and magazines,and internet)but in the end my info is just as good as the next schmo's(SP?) so in the words of somebody famous whose name escapes me "if you can dream you can do it" so i'll.....(continue ranting)

speaking of the neon srt-4, Its a great idea from dodge--- a 2.4 motor. -turbo-huge intercooler-great brakes-great suspension- ....but can you think in your mind of an uglier small car?..I can not... 215hp and 245ft/lbs of torque... thats killer...(but only at the crank, and not the wheels) and probably will be tweaked to put out more... the motor I am sure will be able to handle more boost from the turbo..You are going to have to do your internals to bury one of those...I would like to see what my vibe will do against one

actually these cars dynod 1ftlb torque more that dodge rated it from the factory(sport compact car)dont you hate when that happens. but it does 14.2 some celicas have done 14.9 stock(gts)so supercharged,nos with internals and some other mods,i think i can hit 14.1 hopefully. i was looking at turbos to see how they upgraded their fuel system but I am getting the supercharger.monkeywrench racing has upgraded pumps they sell with the mr2 turbo kits they offer. 165lph capable of 500 horses(so they say)i wonder what the stock flow rate is,and if the gts, xrs,vibe gt have the same pump as base models.

My car has taken one run down the track after the turbo was put on, then a thunderbird running in the 10's took a spill to spoil anymor tries,...with too much clutch slipping and wheel spinning ...a not so great run.....my vibe hit 15.5....could hit the high 14's probably....and this is at a track at 3000ft elevation......manifold psi at 7.5 everything on car is stock except turbo.. even steel wheels......anyway...with some sticky tires...a killer clutch...a measure of skill....lower elevation....my car could get closer...to the low 14's...maybe..

all i have to say is you can put a buttload of money into your vibe to possibly get into the low 14's high 13's but remember someone with an SRT-4 has to buy a boost controller and they can run into the mid 13's really really easy, plus when their stuff blows if they run too much boost it is all covered under warranty because it is all MOPAR which is nice, if the SRT-4 wasnt so ugly and came out a year sooner i would be driving one of those and not a Vibe GT, sure i would lose on space but for the same price I would be keepin up with some fast cars.yogi

well, if it makes you feel any better, they may spend a little bit to switch to an external wastegate...so they can add a boost controller, and if the turbo is too small,theymay have to switch turbos..and after all, they are only selling so many of thos cars, so maybe everyone will be paying atleast sticker,...maybe more.

a lsd would make a lot of diference and better tires there are trd lsd's and others for the celica .look into it cause i will be.and to lord yogi mopars already got upgrade packages for the srt-4 the third package tops out at 300hp but isnt carb legal.but hey our cars look better!!!

and im sure cranking the boost beyond factory spec will void your warranty faster than you can say threw a rod threw the block

it dont matter, it IS the fastest car under 20k, you find me another production car that runs 14.2 in a quarter mile stock that has a base price under 20k.yogi
