Hatch Window Latch

Post by KaosStarr »

So i go out today to work on the car to do some mat/foaming on the back hatch.. i open it up do my thing and then i close it then i was like i wonder if the glass has any rattling from up under it where the sides are. i click to open the window i hear the click of it being pushed but it didn't move so i get on the inside with the pannel off i see the thing that is in the circle moved. I was wondering where does it actually go in or a round about area. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If I understand your question, when you hold the keyless entry remote button for the hatch, it triggers the unlocking, but the glass doesn't really move open. Answer: You still have to lift it up to open it.The gas struts are there to hold it up once you fully open it. They don't provide enough 'push' to make it open. I'm thinking that it might be a safety feature in case you accidentally trigger the glass release from the dash while driving.

If i hit the dash or hold the keypad it doesn't open, it actually doesn't unlock persay. I can hold the button and tug it won't open. underneath the backside with the pannel off i have to push kind of like a switch while pulling up on the window for it to even unlatch. I'm trying to figure where to put the mechanisim for the actually unlock of the glass so i can even open it by hand. In the picture the black peice is what activates it to even unlock atleast I assume this. When I pulled the back pannel off it kind of just fell and I'm not sure where its even from. I was kinda like whatever at the time since I had stuff to get done. Tomorrow I'll actually open it back up and see what to do. But thank you for the time and the reply.

I think he means it is not in its proper position to open the hatch glass. I don't have keyless entry or I would take mine apart and look sorry.
