Really i want you to pls send more pics if available and if not its ok. Also i will offer u $1,700 for that.... and alli needed is ur assurance thatis mine as from now. am higly eager in seeing it. pls dont respond to anybody again on this 1995 Pontiac Firebird.... i believe I am the rightful owner now.About the shipping, i will handle that myself. i shall contact my shipping agent to handle it. the payment is with a certified money order which i believe is the best way. so convenient for me and if u are ok with that, get back to me today so that i could get the payment ready. I'm from Bronby, i live by the sea side in The Republic of Denmark cos am a PILOT. I always come home ( Bronby) every 4Months and travel back to my place of work in Port I am really glad that you want me to get the1995 Pontiac Firebird.... and i will be happy also when i actually get it.Pls email me back today. I'll need your data for the check, viz;"I never agreed to sell it to this guy...my ad is still up; I don't know what the law/transfer/shipping, etc. involves in an international sale...Plus I'm worried that there might be a chance it could be a scam? I would like your opinions on this-THANK YOU!

Pls help you to avoid this transaction to proper scam prevent because if you sell you will never finanaly get money you sell for car. Doesn't sound like a good deal to me. I'd say for a smoother transaction, pass up on this one and find someone else... Even if you have to sell it for $1500, that's more money than you'll get from this joker - probably somewhere along the lines of 1500 bucks or so more. But if they really aren't out to scam ya, you'll still have a lot of stuff to deal with to make the transaction happen thanks to this guy being from some foreign land so do yourlsef a favor and find somebody else.

Thank you...That's what I'm thinking! Don't you think that if this guy was legit, he could get one much CLOSER to the U.K. than Hawaii?! And in better shape than mine! The classified home page said that some members had reported being victims of a scam, so that's never far from my mind-this guy is trying to say he would pay for something he hasn't personally inspected first?! When I got the first email I was pretty much in disbelief. In the second email he sounded pushy! I know how it's supposed to be done-original and new owner sign transfer of title, releasing the original owner from liability. I'm not about to be involved with international scam/liability thing. And I don't have a P.O. box anyway. ONE reply to my ad and it has to be a creep!

This car is listed on a Hawaii Classified. I don't think it's published in the newspaper yet, but it is on their website.

Don't do it. I thought I was being safe and asked for a Post Office Money Order. Took it to a Check Cashing place, fortunately they did not cash POMO's, so I took it to the PO. They didn't even look at them, but after hearing how much it was said they couldn't do it. Took them to the bank and luckily they checked them out before cashing them and found out they were no good. Took them backto the PO where, after careful study, they found that they were fake MO's that had been copied from an older style MO that isn't used anymore. They were in sequential order, but 1 number was the same on all of them that was supposed to be different, even the water-marks were there! I thought for sure they were real, but thank goodness the check-cashing place couldn't cash them. That is where they usually get you. By the time they find out they are fake the money is gone, your product is gone, and you have to pay it back! Be safe and find someone local or someone that will come there to you and give you cash!

I agree totally! I used to do a lot of selling on on-line classifieds. I would get several emails just like the one you received and they were all scams. Most of the scammers ask for your information so they can send you a money order in the mail. Then they hit you with the kicker saying that they will pay you more than you are asking and they want the overpaid amount wire transfered back to them. If someone is actually dumb enough to take this offer and attempts to wire the excess money back then they have to go through their bank and nine times out of ten...the scammer gets your bank account info. Not to mention your Full Name, Address, Phone Number and what ever other info you have provided them.

Here's sone helpful info from azfamily.com (the classified site I use a lot)Nigerian scam takes on new form 10:30 AM Mountain Standard Time on Friday, May 28, 2004 By Three On Your Side investigative staff Selling your car? How about an old couch? Maybe you're running an online business? If you're selling anything on the Internet, there's a warning you need to hear. The Nigerian Scam is back but it has taken a different form. People selling items think they have a buyer when they really have a con artist. Before you place a classified or close a deal in cyberspace, listen to what happened to Ellen Barker of Mesa. Baker, owner of clocks.com, said that thanks to the Internet, she can fill orders from anywhere in the country. "We've sent them to Utah. We've sent them to Nevada. We've sent them to Minnesota," Baker said. But she never thought there would be a global demand. Then she received an e-mail from London, England. "Peter Beckley and we've been corresponding since March," Baker said. Beckley wanted 10 clocks. The total order would've been more than $3,000. Baker got a check, but it was too much -- $27,000 too much. Beckley said it was a mistake and asked her to refund the difference. "So I wired it back to this bank account in London," Baker said. The next day, Baker received a disturbing phone call from the bank. Beckley's check was apparently a fake. "At that point I thought we've lost that much money -- $27,000," she said. Getting nowhere with her bank or the police, she contacted a private investigator in Florida. He managed to freeze the $27,000 wire transfer in London. "And I was so relieved at that point that they had actually stopped the money flow," she said. He also found that Beckley wasn't in London at all. The scam was being funneled through Europe to Nigeria. It's a common scam that's taking people all over the country. The 3 On Your Side team has even heard from people selling cars and furniture through the classified section at azfamily.com. When doing business on the Internet, Baker has a new twist to an old warning, seller beware! "Don't trust people, what they say. If you're working on the Internet, make sure the check clears before you ever refund anything," Baker said. How do you know if you're being scammed? Well, if someone overpays you for anything and then asks for a refund, you're probably being scammed. Also think about this, why would anyone half way around the world want to pay hefty shipping charges for your used furniture or car?

The person even told me they were in Nigeria and had a shipper here in the US that would get the money from the wire transfer of extra money that was supposedly being paid to me by someone who owed him money! Gotta watch for these. I see them all the time on craigslist, got one the other day and told them I was going to report the email address to the police. They still tried to contact me but I just blocked them from contacting me.

since he is using a yahoo.uk address, I reported it to yahoo. The classified confirmed it is a scam. As a result of many members getting these, classified site no longer lists seller email addresses.

Getting the deal done will be a major pain even if it isn't a scam. Keep it local.

Anytime you sell something, especially online, make sure the money is in your account and cleared before delivering any product! Even if a cheque cashing place gives you cash, make sure the cheque clears, otherwise someone will come after you for that money. Even with the most legit sales, make sure the money is yours. Heck, even if they pay you cash, take it to the bank, and deposit it to a person. The bank will always check for counterfit bills.of course, you could always try this: http://www.p-p-p-powerbook.com/
