Window!

I know it's a Vibe thing, or even a GM thing, and the thing has made noise from day one when we roll it up or down... but today someone shut the door (like normal) and something came lose. The glass is lose and I can't use the window now.I did a search on windows but only found what is hitting it...Do we have a post on removing the door panel?Do I need to buy and replace a part now? or is it some kind of fix?haha what a day for this. 94 out and I hate the a/cThanks!

i think it may be something with the motor. a few others have had a problem with the power window motor. take it to the dealer.

It's Toyota thing. Matrix does it, Vibe does it, wouldn't surprise me of the Corolla does it too.Probably the window regulator. The door check does cause a crapload of window problems (I speak from experience!) but I don't think that is your problem here. There are bolts or something that hold the door check on which back out or something (dealer found those loose when I had my Vibe.) But I don't think that would make the whole window come loose, so it brings me back to the regulator... I don't know what all is involved with the regulator or how it attaches, but my uneducated guess is that's possibly your problem. If you need a new one of those, I believe I posted the part number somewhere, probably in the parts list thread (if this is the driver's door you are talking about.) I *think* that thing was a couple hundred bucks, or I dunno, it was all a nightmare so I can't remember and warranty covered it anyway.Sorry to hear about your luck. I hope you can get it fixed quick! I went somewhere around a month and like 4 or 5 trips to the shop and they still couldn't fix my windows, hopefully if you have to take it somewhere, those responsible for fixing it have some sort of a clue.

I'm not sure if this is the regulator, because the window will still work it's more off track then anything, will roll up and down but it's out of place and won't really shut right until I grab it by hand and put it in place.I'll take the door panel apart and see what the deal is and then get back with you guys! thanks. Well if the rain ever stops here.. !I work for a GM stealership, so I should be able to get whatever part it is at cost. Not that it's going to make me happy, if the part is still a few $100. ouch.Wait .. maybe it's a good time to remove all the glass and replace it with lexan windows!.. but I don't think she would like that.. eh?
