Are you sure you want to cover the passenger airbag with this device?

It looks like a good idea for the summe, and places with permanently sunny climates (not southern Ontario where I am).How is it attached at the bottom?Does it cover up any part of the defroster vent?Could it be a projectile in an accident?just wondering.

That's the first thing I thought of as well... Looks like they did too... hehQuote »Q: My passenger side air bag is partially covered by xshade. Will that be a problem?A: Xshade is made of light weight and soft fabric. There is no difference as if putting a sweater up on there. But it's recommended that you allow air bag deploying seam (a shallow dent line across air bag) to be seen uncovered near you while xshade is at its rest position. That way when air bag deploy, it will propelled xshade toward windshield, not passenger. There are some warning about not to place a hard and solid object such as cell phone or mobile computer in front of air bag, since they can become projectile when air bag deploys and cause injury. Yet there is nothing against soft cloth etc. However, do not use xshade if air bag deploy seam is covered.I've gotta pull out the BS card on thier findings though, personally. This just doesn't look safe... I'm no physics major, but I'd think that anything hurled at you somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 MPH is going to hurt - I don't care how soft it is... Even if this doesn't turn into a projectile, one would think something being in the way like this could result with the air bag not deploying properly... Kinda like slapping on a set of seat covers on your seats which have side impact air bags in them, that would work real well when you get t-boned. I'm all about the sunshade, I use mine all the time. But it is only a few more seconds with the old fashioned type to get them set up. I don't think I would want to risk safety just to shave off a few extra seconds each time I park the car, my life isn't that busy that I don't have the time...
