Is there any sort of air snorkel for the stock air intake? Is it worth it to remove it? I used to have a jetta and the engine certainly had a different tone with it removed and a bit more pick up. Eventually I'm going to get a Cosmo SR but in the meantime I wondering if this is a good idea.....

there is a snorkle, and someone did take it out. it did sound different, more grumble, but i think that was about it. you can see it , its in front of the battery and faces your driver headlight.I would leave it stock until the SR cuz you have to take EVERYTHING out, battery, stock airbox etc. to get to it so its not worth doing twice.
Before I installed my Cosmo CAI, I removed my stock air snorkle leading up to the airbox and I did notice a little more peppiness, as well as more intake noise.
