I just replaced my previous JVC setup with this new unit that just came out from JVC. It is a double-din unit, and it does just about everything except nav. It does DVD-audio discs and plays music and pics from an SD card. It also plays MP3s off of DVD. It is compatible with both Sirius and XM. It is not a touchscreen, but at least there won't be fingerprints all over it.Video can be played anytime by grounding the unit's parking brake wire. It also does dual source, and you can turn off the video on the front screen if you want to listen along with the passengers and not risk a ticket. Screen color can be gray, red, blue, brown, orange and some others. Button color is fixed as blue.It has front, rear, center and sub preouts. AV ins and outs. Very versatile unit, and they are relatively inexpensive. Here are some pics! Any thoughts?

Thanks! I am really happy with it. The only gripe I have is that there is no single button to push for a preset station. You can use the remote and hold shift+number, or you can go into the menu and select, which only takes about 3 or 4 clicks. This is where a touchscreen would really be nice. Other than that, no complaints.I'm going to go out this weekend and pick-up a DVD-Audio disc and test it out. Probably only ever buy the one, but I have to hear what it sounds like.
pcola - For backgrounds, there are 2 pics and about 6 colors.Pros-- Versatile, it'll do whatever you want except nav- great picture- Sat ready- Plays most music/video formats- dual-zone- front, rear, sub and center preouts- can remove/load disc with car off- lotsa info on screen- plays pics and music from SD card- 1100 mp3s on one discCons-- display options limited- have to hold shift and press number on remote for presets- no touchscreen- no divx videoOnly had it for a short while, so I haven't tested all functions yet. Nice unit for the price.

Quote, originally posted by frostyGT »Not a problem. It is all one unit. It fits into a double-din opening with no problems.Feel free to IM or email me if you have any questions. What about the mounting kit for this unit on the Vibe? Is this a separate purchase, and if so, what brand/model?Looks good!
Install kit is seperate. I used the Metra 99-8205. I had a little problem with the kit. The sides of the kit were too thick for the JVC provided screws to thread into the unit. I had to shave the holes a little to allow the screws to bite. You could just buy longer screws, though. The stock side mounting brackets do not have holes that line-up with the JVC unit. You could drill a couple holes in the stock plates and cut a trim piece for the opening, but the kit is easier.
Hi, i'm new here.. and i just saw you JVC radio!! it's really nice... i been trying to get a double din radio for my vibe, i just wonder what tipe of brackets/kit do you use to mount your radio??? is that one the METRA brand??, the one you can use to mount 2 single din or a double din radios??? thanks Edggar
