Dealer installed wrong replacement speaker??????

Post by josholiver1 »

I just had my vibe in today and they replaced the front left speaker, but when i listen to music with alot of bass i can hear the speaker working but it doesnt vibrate like the other 3 speakers do..I have the moon and tunes pkg...and could they have messed up and installed a 4-OHM Base speaker instead of a 2-OHM moonsoon speaker? And if this is true is it really hard to install new aftermarket speakers in all four doors? Is There a thread on how to take the door pannel off in the front and back?

Yes, they could have installed the wrong speaker. Popping the door skins is simple if you want to compare both.Do yourself a big favor and follow the thread above to swap out the front speakers. I didn't pull off the houseing by the rivits but cut out the speaker guts while still installed on the door. (I've got the pic and will post) as a followup to the above thread soon. Speaker depth is critical. Mine were MB Quarts and 2.42" deep which cleared the window. Easy job with great results.
