For those of you who have developed a vibrating vibe when placed in gear, try this tip from the car care section of PM. Loosen all of the motor mount bolts at once then start the car and put it in drive. Turn off the engine and retirten all the bolts. According to them the vibration is the result of a crooked motor.
2005 AWD What's your story? It's a wonderful thingMomma always said "Help that is not helpful, is no help at all"
We've had our vibe since June 2005 (love it to death) but we do have a vibration around 3,000 RPM. Could tis be a crooked mount? And if so can the techs at Pontiac do this under warranty? I'm no one to start loosening things on my engine, it would probably fall out. -Fusion Orange, Monotone, PWR PKG, Moon and TunesThanks in advance! Greg
lombaki - i think that might be something else...not sure ive never had my engine vibrate. but that could be a warped rotor. I think it will depened on any noises you hear and where you feel the vibrating
We don't so much feel the vibration but we definitely hear it at 3000 RPM. It's certainly coming from the engine compartment and can't currently afford to shell out the $xx per hour for a tech to work on it. We were hoping to find a common thread with other owners. Perhaps not tho. thanks!
It's during acceleration once we get to 3k rpm and above. And now my wife claims her MPG has decreased noticibly. I'm ready to take it in unless someone has a brilliant idea...?
