It occured to me, that if I dont have an alarm, why couldnt the red radio flashing light on the radio be spliced and tapped to add another LED flashing light. This would be a better deterrent !!!I know that LEDs need some kind of resistor ( I am not electronically inclined)Ive seen newer Toyotas that have a blue LED under the driver side dash .How would this be done?I will also post on the Matrixowners website

You can buy LEDs that blink by themselves. Ex:http://www.radioshack.com/prod...earchh ... ..earchAll you'll need is a resistor to hook it to +12V, and a switch if you want to turn it on/off. The resistor value depends on the LED used.If you have a specific color in mind, let me know I'll see if I can find one or let me know what one you get & I can give you resistor value.

I did the exact same thing. I bought an LED flasher at a local electronics store, installed the LED by drilling a hole in one of the empty switch panels and pushing the LED through it, and running the 2 wires to the dome light switch electrical connector. The wires just inserted into the connector harness that connects to the dome light switch ... no soldering needed. Easy 15 minute job, and looks like a real alarm system!
on your stock radio there is a little red light that flashes like an alarm light. that is a fake alarm light. it should be located under you volume knob.
No i meant by how GMJAP said that quote... Quote, originally posted by GMJAP »Well, it's a real blinking light But if you were to assume it meant anything, then it'd be faking you.

oh ok now i know not to assume anything now. but after you go back and read his quote its pretty strait out. basically that light is faking that it is the alarm light.
