seatbelt help

Post by MarathonVibe »

I need help with repairing my seatbelt. I took my rear passenger side seatbelt out (don't ask why)and now the belt will not retract back out so i can not get the belt back in place. Can anyone throw me a bone?

this used to happen to me with my VW. the only way i could ever get it was to VERRRRRRRY slowly try pulling the belt out. it gets very tedious but from what i understand, the spring that stops the belt from extending in the event of an accident is easily activated when almost all of the belt is in the housing (larger diameter?)it took me about 30 minutes once, and plenty of swearing, but if you take your time you should get it all out eventually.good luck!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
