Yes. If you have moon & tunes I would also recommend a speaker level converter to get the best sound. It will work fine without it, BUT you'll get quite a bit of white noise in the background *and* you'll stand the chance of damaging your ears and/or your speakers if you crank it up halfway. This gizmo will help you lower the signal that goes into the factory amp, basically, so you're not overamplifying anything...Something like the Scosche FAI-3A does the job fine, that's what I have in mine, but beware the screw terminals!

So the factory speakers come into the dash and converge into one plug, so you need a wire harness to go from the factory speakers to the new HU. and the wire harnes just plugs into the speaker wires and then plugs into new HU..same for anntenna?I have the 03 moon and tunes so where is the amp located?How do i get to it?and how do i turn it down or off?

Sort of, yes. With the factory amplifier the speaker wiring goes to the amplifier (under the passenger seat) then to the back of the radio. The harness allows you to connect to the OEM connector behind the radio without cutting the cars wiring. You'll have to connect the harness that comes with the radio to the harness that you get to connect to the car.Just look under your passenger seat for the amp. You can't adjust anything on it, it either works or doesnt'.

Does the harness that comes with the aftermarket radio have to be soddered to the wires from the harness that connecects to the GM speakers?And also what did they change so that the 05 got a sub. Did the amp change or (if i buy the sub for the 05 and plasitc box that goes around it), can i just plug it into the amp under the seat?

Yes, the harness that comes with the aftermarket radio has to be soddered or crimp-connected to the harness that connects to the OEM connector in the dash.The amp changed to work with the sub, but I don't know if it changed the connections behind the radio.

You would use the scosche for adding an aftermarket amplifier with RCA inputs.

is there anyway i can buy a 05 amp that connects under the seat and will that have the RCA outputs? And still connect to the OEM speakers? The reason is i want to keep costs low and keep the HU the same and i am willing to spend alittle extra for the OEM amp if it had the out puts so all i would have to do is plug it into the OEM amp. Wich is Pionner i think
