hey good job and thanks blue, you're the first person to figure that out. that's what my plates say, and the closest guess i've heard was mercenary. well i'll tell yall more about me and my vibe. i tried posting it in my bio, but i was 1700 characters too long. so here it is: i've liked vibes since late winter 2001, when i was in michigan gettin my car serviced at the dealership and noticed a flyer withs this hot yellow car on it. i picked it up n read about it. then i read about it again. and again, til i asked a salesman when it was gonna be released. he said "i don't know" and walked away. so then i started doing my own research online, in magazines, and anywhere i could get my filthy lil hands on some info. then as i was reading an article about a vibe, i saw a lil blurb about somethin called a matrix, and found out that gm and toyota teamed up to build these two cars. for a little while, i was leaning more towards the matrix, and when the first matrix came out in arizona on february 6th 2002, (i had moved to AZ by that time) i went to see it, and on the way to the car, i bombarded the salesman with all kinds of questions: is it the base model, xr, or xrs?? what options are in it?? the salesman didn't know half of what i was asking, just telling me that the only things he knew about it was what the toyota website had up. so i left once i found out it wasn't an xrs, looking for a vibe gt. i couldn't get financed for it and with nobody to co-sign, i was basically given a foot in the (removed) and was told to have a nice day.fast forward to the present: february 2006. i was out with my mom and her boyfriend todd when todd and i started talking about the new solstice. my mom asked what it looked like and i said "i'll show ya." we hit the nearest pontiac dealer and as we were talkin to the salesman, i walked over to the used cars, and saw a few vibes sittin there, so i looked at this 05 gt that was sittin there for $16,700, and asked if it was used, and the salesman said no. i asked why it was so freakin cheap and he told me that they had purchased too many and that these two had been sittin there, so the price was dropped $8,000. well that was it. i drove it and startin lovin it. i thought about it that night, searched all the auto trader type sites, and found that it was the cheapest new gt in the country so i went and picked it up the next day. i couldn't believe it, a brand new 05 gt with 32 miles on it for $1,500 more than they wanted for an 05 with 30,000 miles. i wasn't sure if that used one was an awd or not, but i knew it wasn't a gt, and this was an excellent deal to me. well that is all i have for now, i'll include more info in the future

in response to gmjap's question, the options on it are:moon n tunesside curtain airbagsabspower windows n locksthe lil first aid kitfactory 17'sthe stereo doesn't sound too bad, the bass is pretty good when the windows are up.i got a price on a 10" shallow mount sub and amp in a fiberglass enclosure that'll match the contours of the stock panel with the monsoon 8" for around $2,000. has anyone had this done so i can see what the final product looks like, and how much did you pay?? i have a sub box in my other car, but i don't really wanna put it in there because it's kinda hard to hide for one thing, and if i need to load some big stuff, i dont wanna go through takin the box out, trippin the breaker, cappin the wires, and all that other great stuff. i also think it would look much better while still maintaining the original functionality of the hatch back n fold down seats

Wow, looks like you got a taste of all Michigan dealers! Completely clueless...boggles my mind how you can get a career revolving around cars and know absolutely nothing about them even after years and years of service...ANYWAYS, beautiful car! Welcome to the forum.

yeah Merzbow, i grew up in south bend, indiana (go irish) just below the michigan border, and the salespeople there are squarebutts too. actually it seems like most salespeople are, their only objective is to get you into ANY car they can get you to put your (removed) in. they aren't concerned with the minor details. i asked a salesman a while back what kinda mileage a car got, and he looked at the sticker for a minute (tryin to play it off like he was fixin his hair in the reflection lol) before answering me. there are still some good ones out there tho. my friend used to sell pontiacs and when i pulled up at his house, he was talkin bout all the specs n stuff like it was second nature to him. dude needs to teach courses on becoming a real car salesperson or somethin
