I just recently bought a vibrant strut tower brace and I was surprised that it came without any instructions. I assume that I just remove the stock brackets and then screw in the new ones. And if this is right, then do I need a torque wrench or can I just do it by hand?
thats all i did.I have a megan racing one... i just left the black brackets on. didnt do any harm.preference i guess.

Hiya tcam,I also got the Vibrant Strut Brace. Thought it to be a slightly better consruction than the Megan one. No instructions here either though I did remove the metal brackets that are on the towers. The design of the Vibrant brace actually fits well without those. As for the torque wrench. I would suggest borrowing one just to make sure you don't over tighten (strip) or undertighten. If I remember correctly, the 3 nuts only need to be tighted to 14 ft-lbf.Dave
you have a pic of them... i wanna see what they look like.how much are they? maybe ill look into one

Yeah, it's 29 ft-lbf. Yikes, now I need to check mine! When I did the install, I checked out the repair manual at http://www.trixology.org/Repair/ so I had to of torqued it to 29. Sorry for the miss-info. I must have been thinking the Spark Plugs, which I changed the day I rechecked the strut brace torque.Dave
hi 13Vibe03NGK's site states 12mm thread to 10.4-14.5 lb-ft . The repair manual states 13 ft-lbf.Links to this info... http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/t...ry=US& ... pai....pdf DaveP.S. Sorry for taking this off-topic for a moment.
I have the TRD one and I just hand tightened mine as tight as possible. No instructions either on the install but its pretty simple. I didn't leave the black rings there however. I took those off.
