Has anyone tried to remove their steering wheel? Mine is not on straight (ever since it was new and I have had it alligned multiple times). I am kind of leary due to the airbag...Any suggestions? I am tired of taking it to the dealer. I have fixed the squeeks and rattles myself with the help of this forum (better than taking it to the dealer)...
I have to agree with Salsa. Let the dealer play with that. I wouldn't mess with anything that has to do with the air bags. I know you are tired of taking it to the dealer, but it isn't worth having the air bag mistakenly deploy on you!

That is too bad. When I first got my car I noticed the steering wheel wasn't straight and took it back for an alignment - everything has been pretty straight since then. Every once in a while I am still convinced that my car pulls to the left, but this is probably just road slope (I think/hope).

Well, I can't complain too much. Before I got it fixed the bottom spoke of the wheel would point at my left leg instead of down at my ... errr... zipper. Now it is a-okay, I guess. If you think you have an alignment issue, I would keep taking it back until they get it right. Not only will a mis-aligned car wear tires quicker but if you ever take your hands off the wheel for a second to grab something and the next thing you know you off the road, that would not be good.

Oops, meant that for R.Rose. I would bug the heck out of my service department and threaten to go to different dealer if they did not fix it properly.

Oh well. My dealer seems really good at wanting to keep me a customer and always offering to go that extra yard.
