Intake Question

Post by wilson1 »

I've searched....but have a direct question. I can find like 17 results for a Vibe intake on Ebay. But, type in Matrix Intake, over 100 results. My question: I have a '03 AWD Vibe....which matrix corresponds to my car (if any)? I found several for the Matrix for 100 dollars that are using K&N filters. Thanks.

Also, is there one brand over another that won't throw a CEL?

AFAIK, the cosmo and the injen are both safe bets for no CEL. from what i've heard, the TRD may throw a cel.

I would personally prefer the short ram. I guess I should of said that. I didn't know Cosmo made a full cai? Never really looked that hard tho. So, the Injen cai, and Cosmo SR, or CAI doesn't throw codes?

The '03 or '04 will work. The hose change is on the '05 from the Throttle body to the intake.

Cold air intake does as its named... draws in "cold" air before it reaches the engine and this is what creates more of a HP gain.

I have been wanting a CAI. I wanted a Cosmo, but they have been out of stock (for my '04 Base). I am almost tempted to go with a SR for now, and upgrade later. I would go for injen, but they are over $100 more, and I can't see spending that much right now, when Cosmo was only $118. Any idea's on how we can bug them into diggin up a few more Cosmo intakes?

the only people having probs with CEL's are the GT models. rarely does anyone with a base vibe or trix have any issues, including the AWD's. and vibr8tr, the 03 model will also fit your base vibe. check on matrixowners.com fs threads too. someone might have one they are selling for less.

Thanks.... I guess I am stuck waiting then. I am turned off by the SR only cause where I live, it's not uncommon for it to be 90+ degrees F out, and that would really defeat the purpose of getting an intake system. So unless any one is trying to get rid of thierCAI for under $150.... I will wait.... and wait.... and wait.... and wait....
