I left my car at my dealer this morning for oil changing and adjustment to the camber after our rough winter and road conditions here up north... now I just received a call from someone at my dealer. something's broken on the torsion beam, so the tolerence is now at .75, when the limit is at .20, so they can't adjust it. not sure what it means, but if they can't fix it, they gotta have to replace the hole thing, around 2k CND$. I was thinking to remove my spring after this summer, because I didn't like the ride this winter, but I might do it right now... I'll let you know what is exactly broken, and what can have made it. I hope my insurance will pay if I have to replace the hole thing!

Could possibly be from the drop and/or the rough roads, that combining with the drop.Keep us updated.
I'm talking about this:I took the picture from a guy on CarDomain... it's probably caused by the rough roads AND the drop...edit: I have the spring since may 2k5, so not a year yet.
I just remember. this winter, I hit a 20 pounds fire extinguisher a truck lost on a road, and I dragged it for few feet, time for me to stop. If it's this, I'll find the guy and ask him to pay!

lame... got my car back from the dealer, I can still drive it, lucky that my tires are on their last miles so they can wear away (not sure if it's an appropriate expression)... now my file is in my insurrance's hand, I can't do anything from now but wait...
For some reason, this doesn't surprise me. I found early on how patheticly weak the ol' axle is back there. Back in the day when I would jack up FWD cars with solid axles, I had always raised them up in the center - but these were old 80's GM stuff with pretty heavy axles, not this cheap junk like we have. Nothing bad happened to those. But when I first bought this Vibe, I tried to do the same and watched that thing bend, heard it snap and pop as I attempted to raise the car. I let the jack down and found the location in front of the rear wheels to raise the car. It's made from some very weak metal! So it wouldn't surprise me if I broke mine too, but if it is, it isn't worth fixing. I hate to hear the news! I hope for your sake the insurance covers it too, that's quite a bit of dough!

If our wonderful province would fix the roads, we wouldn't have these problems. Around here it is so rough right now, even my truck is taking a beating.

Nope not at all, I'm simply removing them. Even more, youor ride was lower than mine.I'm sorry to hear that you're having problem. All the roads there are just one big hole otherwise. I'm not worried about mine.

fix has been done today. it cost me 250$ and my insurrance paid the rest. an alignment to 4 wheels was include, so tomorrow I'll be able to put my summer mags and tires. personnally I'm disappointed for the time took (more than 2 weeks) for all the processus, but there was nothing I could have done. Ben, I know concider a rear sway bar...
Just had my aligment done last week and they said the rear is out(right)-0.6mm(camber)and thrust toe angle .01mm..
