The Offical "Spy Shots & Sightings" Thread

Post by ragingfish »

Since I can't for the life of me seem to find the original thread we had been using for spy shots and new car sightings, I decided to start a new one.I saw today, to my amazement, my first off-the-lot truly-owned 2007 Saturn Sky: This car is beyond stunning in person. I didn't get to check it out up close because I was late for work, but I did find myself staring for quite a while!I haven't even seen a Solstice on the road yet, and they've been out for almost a year. But the Sky has only been on lots for a month or two, and I'm already seeing one.If the speed at which this Sky moved off the lot and appeared on the road is any indication of how the public will receive the "new" Saturn vehicles, then I think it's safe to say that the brand is actually on the road to true recovery!!!

My dad is taking his 'tax return fallout' and putting down a deposit (correction, has put down) on a new Solstice. He's getting it bare-bone so he just has a second sporty car other than his tricked out Mini.I tried to convince him to get the Sky, but he didn't want to spend the money on it or it's extra features. Can't blame him, I guess!

they're on the same platform, but i have to say, i do like the skye...front end is defintely nice a bit rakish...makes the solstice look too 'friendly'then again, beggars can't be choosy. i'd be happy with either one

I saw my 1st 'Mary Kay" edition Vibe last night, I actually have a picture on my phone, but I don't have the adapter right now to d/l it. It's the bright red color car, with really nice red "Mary Kay edition" Logo's on the doors just above the Vibe logo, and on the hatch where my AWD logo is.

Reminds me a LOT of the 1986 Corolla FX-16 GT-S! Those were the sweet little 2 door hatchbacks with the MR2 engine under the hood.....I remeber some car magazine ever transplanted the SC MR2 engine in oone for autocross duty (Grassroots Motorsports, perhaps?)

that corolla is ugly. sorry. other than the engine. it has nothing worth looking at. i can already feel myself being cramped inside it. those seats are the standard vibe seats. not the most sporty seats available. i'd still get the new gti before that toyota.plus the interior is years outdated.now, the solstice... yeah baby!

If either the Matrix or the Vibe come looking like those spy shot photos, my 05 Vibe is headed for the used car lot!

I don't know about anybody else, but for me, I find that I spend more time inside the car than I do looking at the engine or the outside. Slip into the cockpit of this bad boy that just set you back the price of two cheap corollas and you find yourself surrounded by, uhh, the same stuff that was in the cheap corolla! Outside is ok, and I'm sure it is fast. But for the money and for the fact that from the outside, it doesn't resemble the other Corollas, I think it wouldn't have killed them to do something different inside. Mix it up a bit. But my priorities are always out of whack, so I don't think my opinion amounts to squat anyway.
