2006 HU aux inputs

Post by chadlyt »

Hello all,New Vibe owner here. I usually reside on Chevy Truck World, but now i have this new addition and an looking for input on the stock HU.I have the Monsoon HU with 6CD inside it and the speaker package also. I'm looking for an external input for audio devices like my ipod or my dvd player. The dealer didn't even know what an ipod was, so i didn't even go into the stereo AUX options with them.Am i better off going with a wired FM modulator? or is there an actual input for AUX audio? I'm hoping to stick with the stock HU for now...here is a quick pic of the new Vibe (my daughter likes to get in the way) on edit: as i browse throug and try to the search with better search terms, it seems i may be stuck. I have read the single CD can use the fm mod, but not the 6 cd? anyone know about that?

I think an easily connected AUX input is not available for the in-dash 6CD player, as most aux inputs 'emulate' the changer for the audio. So..changer = no aux. Unless you're willing to open the radio and do some soldiering, the only way to go is the modulator. Not sure where you read that the 6CD can't use the FM modulator? Any 'radio' can use an FM mod. Wired, though, is probably the better way to go. Don't bother with one of those iTrip things. Get a modulator that goes in behind the dash and plugs in between the car's antenna and the radio. I think Circuit City has one for $50, plus you'll need antenna adapters that'll most likely run you another $20.

Unfortunately, Jahntassa is correct. There is no AUX adapter that works with the 6CD. (This is a wired solution, which does work with the 1CD.)The FM modulator, however, will work with any radio.
