Price for painting cladding

Post by GrayFox »

$250 estimated. That's the price from the bodyshop that I used to work at and know the people that own it pretty well. also this is if I bring them the pieces and all they have to do is sand prim and paint. Time to start saving Any tips from people who have taken the cladding off before? Thanks

all i know is that on the front bumper you have to undo some screws and the lower part with the cladding comes off of the bumper and the other parts are held on with plastic clips.

lol... I guess it pays to know people, I didn't ask him wether he cut me a deal or not but I do know he's not screwing me. I help them with their computers from time to time so I might even get it cheaper than that.

I want to get mine painted but I haven't called around any where....if I did get it painted I am not sure what color I'd go for...since my vibe is abyss....the only great thing about the cladding right now is it saves from "some" chipping by stones...stupid cheap paving...

Not sure on the newer 2-tones, but on the '03-'04 the plastic pieces need to be sanded smooth, then treated with some chemical so that the primer and paint will stick to it. If you try to just prime and paint it the paint will chip and peel off within a few months.

TraySeeLea,You could always to the Voltz route A Voltz's cladding is about the same color (maybe a bit darker gray) but it's glossy. Looks awesome IMO
