Smaller tire speedometer

Post by Resnick »

I'm putting 205/50/16's on my car today. I know that this is going to throw off my Speedometer. during the winter I go back to regular sized tires. should I bother (or is it a big deal) to have the Speedo re calibrated

How about 225/50/16 and the diameter will perfect.

Here's a link to a tire size calculator....http://1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.aspYours are off by 3.22% which in tires is quite a bit, a little more than recommended. 100 KPH will now show as 103 KPH. The speedo can't be recalibrated so you'll just have to learn to drive 3 KPH less over the posted speed limit.
