Does the back speakers have more space?

Post by miked »

I went on the Crutchfield site and they are stating that IM able to put speakers that are 6"3/4 and that in the front it's 6"1/2.Is that thru, because the 6"3/4 are definetly better speakers in the brand I'm looking to.Or should it only need a new mounting bracket?

Don't need a mounting bracket for the back, just screw the new speakers directly into the metal. 6 3/4" will fit fine.

I'm going to say you probably can.. I have Polk MOMOs in all the doors, and I think those are 6 3/4". I ripped the cone out of the stock speaker up front and used the old speaker ring as a mounting point. What you need to be careful of is depth.Of course you could also mount it into the door panel itself, which gives you more room to work with.

The front speakers will hit or be-hit-by the front windows if they're too deep.SEARCH revealed this relevant thread --> http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=14157

Agreed, I would double check before I be putting any money down. The rears can be removed and 6 3/4 will fit but the front has all sorts of issues regarding depth. I've estimated that with the stock shroud you can get 2.5" depth before hitting the glass.Take the passenger side skin of and measure twice, buy once A
