New Member... looking for Ideas...

Post by Vibr8tr »

Not only a newbie member, but a newbie owner also. I am looking for new idea's, and I aven't taken the time yet to look around the forum, and see what everyone is saying. I want to make my new Vibe truely "mine",a nd personalize it, but I don't know where to start and some of the things out there. I really want new tail lights, but have not yt been able to find anything cool. So any idea's, I would love to hear them, even if it's just small things that most people wouldn't even notice.

Good luck on the tail light thing... a lot of us are still looking for those. As for anything else to mod your Vibe, you will find LOTS of stuff on here to make your car your own. Take a look around and I'm sure you will get lots of suggestions.By the way, welcome to the club!

hey welcome. I have red outs for my tail lights, makes it look like the vibe gt-R. they are from bluebat, otherwise tail light replacements like altezza's are not made yet badge overlays are cheap and look good though. get them from grafxwerks.

Thanks for the input on the taillights. I know what you are saying about some parts, and not being able to find them. On the "redout overlays", I think those look pretty cool, how do you guys like them? You guys are all helpful, and I am shocked at not only how fast you respond, but how you are all nice about everything, and willing to help.I do have another question. Does any one know a site that they would be willing to buy windshield vinals? I am edgy about getting cheap ones that will not last. Is that grafxwerks good, I heard of them a few times. Again, I thank you guys, and like I said any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

Welcome to GenVibe!Lessee, how to make the Vibe truly yours? You could always pull a Jackson Pollock and throw paint all over it...it would definitely make it your own. Several members have used the bluebat overlays and the general opinion has been quite favorable. I'm not a fan of Altezza's, but agree that it would be nice to have some options here.Regarding windshield vinyls, Grafxwerks has a few to choose from and his quality is excellent. I personally had a tinted brow installed when I did my window tint and was very pleased with the results. By the way, window tinting is one of the best appearance mods you can get for the money, IMHO. Makes your car look cool, and keeps you cool as well.

I dont have any pics of mine on (no digital camera) but I love them. I also got a vinyl 3rd brake light overlay that says VIBE (goes on the inside) and that looks good too. I would recommend grafxwerks as well, you can also talk to them and they might be able to custom you a windshield vinyl.

I am thinking of tinting soon, I have been quoted for $140 for 30% all around. Not sure if that is good or not, but over all I don't see it as bad for a professional job (I don't trust myself doing it.... can we say "bubbles"?)I am however putting some blue neons in the interior and wondered if any one had done this yet and if they had any opinions. As for right now I have put in a switch with wires going to under the seats, I haven't seem them glow yet (I just finished them today), I am hoping they will be bright enough under there, if not I am going to move them to under the steering collum.I also saw a picture of someone that put some red LED's right over the Temp control, and AC/Heater control, and I thought that looked cool. I was going to get blue ones. The only thing is I have to drill three 1/4" holes in the grey faceplate (for lack of the actual part name). Any opinions on the lighting of the interior would be greatly apreciated.Oh and last thing, has anyone found anywhere I could link into a good 12V in the interior, or somewhere to feed some wires through to the battery? The interior is pretty sealed up, and I don't want to drill through the firewall. Right now I am hooked into the center consol lighter.... but can only use that if the Vibe is in ACC mode...... any info would be helpful. Thanks again to every one....And I will try and get some pictures of my Vibe this weekend.... as for now, it's do dirty for any one to see....

$140 for tinting is a good price; mine cost $170 including the windshield brow (about $15 extra).NascarXprt has blue LEDs in his Vibe (I think), plus he has Dual Illuminite speakers (blue LEDs in the speaker)...very cool looking.

Welcome to the best Vib'r8tin site in the world!!!!! Great screen name by the way!You will enjoy this site, but seriously, take some time to view and read a lot of the threads in the forums regarding some of the mods you're planning first (i.e. exterior, interior, engine, etc...), 'cause they may answer most of any questions you could ever come up with regarding "personalizing" your Vibe!Enjoy the site, check out all of the features, cruise the forums, and don't be afraid of asking any questions if you can't find the answers already posted. Oh yeah...we love lots of pics too! So post'em when you get'em!

I found my way from Michigan to Fayettnam the same way every one else in this "little" town do.... Army. I just got out a few weeks ago, and am using all my new time to work on my little Vibe. I have been reading forums none stop, not only to learn about the things I am doing, but to get idea's of Mods for the future, and to make sure not to make any mistakes later on. I am learning ALOT, and thank every one for everything. And also if any one knows of a "Vibe rally" more in the South east area, let me know. Thanks

Just check the Events Forum from time to time... that's where you will see most of the Vibe Rally info. A big meet coming up on June 24th in Michigan... it's a great time, I've been to all 3 of them! It's well worth your time if you can make the drive, plus you will get to see a lot of the customization that people do to their cars in person.

Thanks for the help. I am curious on what people would say is the best performance upgrade for the money, and what is the best visual upgrade for the money?I am thinking of getting tinting for my visual upgrade. About 30% or so, just something so I know "That is MY vibe" kind of thing. And performance wise, by the looks of it, CAI is the best for the money spent. I REALLY want to get that, a new performance chip, and a new exhaust system. Let me know what you all think.....

CAI is def. the best for the money. Everything else either hardly gives any gain or costs a billion dollars. Nitrous I think would be the only other performance application that gives you descent power for the amount of money you spend.I would say get some sharp wheels, lowering springs, CAI, and maybe exhaust if you want it to sound sweet.

I WAS from way up north near Petoskey / Mackinaw area. But I joined the army, and am now down in N. Carolina. I want to get a Rally going down here, or in Myrtle beach or something. I would love to make it back up to Mich for the rally up there, but it's hard to find the time. It's a long drive.
