Have an 05 Base manual tranny with a Cosmo CAI. The CEL comes on almost constantly after resets (regardless of how long I disconnect the battery or have the system reset at the garage). It also bogs down under hard acceleration - if you let the pedal up slightly, the car planes out and accelerates really well. It feels like it is getting too much gas..................Suggestions??? (I am very frustrated!!)

another 05 COSMO CAI... well i just had got mine in about 2 weeks ago... i like it very much. After the brutal fight to get it in.did you oil your filter... maybe too much oil?MAF is dirty or got something on it.Maybe its something with the fuil rail... to much gas sprayed?Just some ideas... not a mechanic but something to go off of.good luck

My 03' vibe did the same thing and the dealer replaced the Mass Air Flow sensor under warranty even though I had a CAI installed (great dealer I guess). you didn't happen to bump the maf sensor when removing or installing it did you? if not, they say (though I haven't tried it) that you can spray the MAF with cleaner. but I really doubt it will fix it.
All connections are tight and the system has been installed for almost a year. The problem has been happening for the past 4 months.I will replace the MAP and advise. Thanks for the info.

before you buy a new one (I think they are pricey) spray it clean with some cleaner, some say carb/choke cleaner, I used brake cleaner on mine. Might not work, but if a couple of dollars for a spray can fixes the problem, you'll have saved the cost of a new MAF sensor

the MAF will not allow rev past 2500RPM if there is an issue with it and your cel light will show whats wrong. I would suggest having someone scan it. It sounds to me like an air/fuel mixture issue. Possibly your air filter is on to high and on hard accell its not getting enough air?If I still lived in ontario and worked at Woodstock Gord Andersons GM/Pontiac/Buick dealership I'd say stop in and I'd scan it for you for free.
