Hella Supertone Horns - Video w/Sound

Post by Geo »

I saw that raginfish had posted up a wav file of the horns, and it just didn't do these beauties justice. For those wondering what these horns sound like, here's a clip of the horns with 2 short taps followed by laying on it for a few seconds. Hopefully this is helpful to someone! :Dhttp://www.genvibe.com/images/misc/forum/hella/hella.movEDIT: Fixed link to new location. APR/09/2006

Hmm, good idea.Anyone near the Madison area with a Vibe or Matrix willing to let me take a 10 second video clip of their stock horn? I can then post the video here so everyone can see the difference :D

Well in my honest opinion---They sound fair but too staticey. I plan to install a set of Cadillac trumpet horns on my Vibe . I had them on my 1985 Eldorado and they sound like a frieght train horn. There would be 4 individually piched horns and will make your hair stand on end. They will definetly drown out the Hella. Now don't get me wrong -Hella's are Good but for my taste I like a real brassy sound. James

It sounds staticy because they are SO loud, they overwhelm the microphone...trust me, they sound aamzing...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

I just wish mine would work all the time like they should. The first set went out, the seller replaced them, and my new set is tempermental. I have rarely ever used them, but the few times I have, the low tone keeps cutting out. Without the low tone, it sounds just as wimpy as stock.
