i was looking on ebay and saw an injen cai for a matrix xrs, will this fit my vibe gt, at the injen site they are diff part numbers, but injen does not list a gt vibe

doesn't it fit 2004 as well? I thought it was 05 and on that things went different. I could be wrong though.

no, the 03 2zz engine was different. it's the only one they did right before they started messing with the emissions junk and lowering and lowering the HP.

That's funny I got an 04' GT with an Injen CAI and it works just fine...

alright, another question, what is the difference in an injen cai, compared to something cheaper like the ones on ebay for 100-150 bucks, is it just the filter element, the bends, what, is it a noticable difference in power or just looks/durability

You are buying a name. That's my thought. Get a Cosmo racing CAI, much, much cheaper, does the same job.

check out autoaccessory.com its cheaper then ptuning or if u are really serious i can check and get it alittle cheaper then autoaccessory i can get it for around $200 shipped (not making money off this either i don't really make money off gen vibers

ok from reading this and the other new post about intakes, injen is the way to go, but, what makes it so good, the others claim the same hp increases, mandrel bends and good filter, one even comes with a k and n, just curious thanks

Well they have the money and experience to develope and test there products. The other's just copy as best they can from compony's like Injen... Again you get what you pay for.. if you do go with the ebay special take allot of pictures and let us know how it goes... Good luck with either way you go...

theirs is also a single pipe going from the filter to the engine. so its smooth all the way. They use quality parts also, some people have boughten the cheap cai's on ebay and the filter is just junk or the piping has crap inside of it.

From what ive seen and read... they all fit the same... cuz they all have the cable throttle and the engine layout is basically the same... the difference is in the 05-06 base models where they went to DBW.so it will fit... when i bout a CAI that was for the cable throttle, it fit very snug but well just like they all do, except mine was a DBW.

ok thanks Mrizzle. By the way, when you install a CAI where does the filter go? from the pictures ive seen the metal tubing just seems to go out of the engine bay on the right... but where does it go?

right behind the fog light on the drivers side, but infront of the tire, on the otherside of the wheel well.
