Seating,Sound,Stabilitrac,Onstar,Radar,MP3,Spoilers,traction control Questions

Insted of makina whole buch of topics i decided to do it all in one topic.-What is the diffrence from slate and charcole seating? Who has slate seating? is it a diffrent design or just lighter?-who has onstar and were is the antenna located?( i have never seen a vibe with onstar, so i would like to see where the antenna is located, so i can see if it is asteticly pleasing)-who has stabilitrac? can it be turned off if not wanted?-does the vibe have Traction Control? can that be turned off?-on the 06 if i order OnStar and XM will delete the MP3 CD function?-who has a radar detector? Any sugestions?-is getting the spoilers primed, insted of getting them black,silver, or red from the factory meen that they wont last as long? How are they exactly atached to the body?

DON'T GET SLATE!!! It sucks, I've got it in mine. Very few of us have it. Basically, the entire interior is the same color on both colors with the exception of the seat fabric. It's horrible, look at it the wrong way and it stains... I personally don't recommend it - the fabrics in the Vibe stain super easy anyway, and the lighter fabric makes it worse. Clear, completely clean, plain water will stain the fabric, so you can imagine what happens with other drinks. Here's a couple pics I took last year showing the LED's that are no longer in the car. Those are the only ones I could find which show the seats, and they don't show much but from what little is visible, it looks rough. That was back when I didn't hate the car as much as I do now, you can imagine how nasty the seats look these days! http://img.photobucket.com/alb...3.jpgh ... tabilitrak has a switch to the left of the wheel that lets you turn it off when necessary. It also contains traction control. I have no experience with it, so that's about all I know.

- Don't know where the OnStar antenna is located. I don't think i've ever seen the antenna, come to think of it.- Don't have it, don't know.- Don't have it, but the traction control should be able to be turned off, I think it is on all GMs that have it.- Possible. I don't know what the current radio offerings are, but you should be able to figure it out by 'build your own' on Pontiac's website.- I have an Escort Passport 7000 that I swear by. I think ragingfish has an 8500. I personally love the Escorts, but a lot of people will swear by the Valentine1 just the same. In this case, spending more money will get you better units.

As far as StabilTrac goes, remember you have a Toyota product not GM. The StabilTrac on the Vibe is actually Toyota Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) with Traction Control. I have it on mine and both the StabilTrac and Traction Control work great. There is a button to turn off traction control but not StabilTrac. But there is no reason to turn off StabilTrac. I also have a Lexus, which is made by Toyota and it works exactly the same. Once you have it you will never want another car without it. The mp3 playback deck in my 06 DOES NOT include XM controls, as far as I can tell.According to the lit from the dealership, of the three available radios, the base and the six-disc seem to support XM, but not the single disc with mp3. hope this helps?-chuck
