Injen CAI and Magnaflow catback exhaust installed

Post by Mavrik »

Well I gotta upload the pics but for the moment I'll post anyway. Those who know me and my nemesis of intakes knows I blew my MAF on the original install the friday before the 2004 MI Vibe meet. It was installed correctly at the meet by Ragingfish (mike) and TRDVibe (Hope who I married) Well last spring I removed the intake for a long cross canada road trip and wanted to get all I could out of my fuel mileage for it.I never got back around to re-installing it. I think it might have had to do with my fear of blowing the MAF again and not working for GM to be able to score another free one.But the spring mod bug has bitten and I reinstalled my Injen intake this past sunday afternoon. Took the Vibe for a road test afterwards and grinned the whole time. I had forgotten how much fun it was. Well I also had a huge box in the livingroom containing a complete cat back Magnaflow exhaust system. I took that with me to work today and with the help of a friend installed it in a matter of minutes. Unfortunatly have not gone to the streets with it yet as I'm still at work. But I leave here soon and will have fun on the ride home.It sounds very nice, deep rumble and on idle you can barely tell one is even there its that quiet. But when you accel... on it tells you its there Anyway once I get home I'll post up some pics of both installs. I'll have more to post once the car is all clean and I can find a nice location to take some. Maybe get my friend out there with his Matrix. All thats left now is a re-tuned unichip and I'm set. Oh and summer 17" tires to re-install once the snow is gone.

Excellent! Glad to hear you got the intake and cat-back on. It is a beautiful sound. Can't wait for the pics.

Funny thing was at the same time my friend Jerry had his modded WRX in there for some of his projects. He's a tech there. And one of the other techs had his 98 impreza outback sport with a 2.5 engine/turbo swap (from stock nonturbo 2.0) And then mine in there for the exhaust. The manager comes out and says "when did my shop turn into a tuner garage?"Anyway, pics uploading soon.

As promised... pics! However here is the link to more since I don't feel like posting all of them.http://smg.photobucket.com/alb...2006/Yes I know my engine bay is dirty. I am ashamed That last pic has my friend JC's Matrix parked next to mine. He's doing more appearance mods but we did lower his Matrix for him. (mine's still faster )

I'm so tempted to get an exhaust. On another note, clean the bottom of your car before it's too late!

When the snow melts and the roads dry up... it snows again! I can't keep my car clean but trust me once the weather is better the car is going up on a hoist again and powerwashed off underneith. And the ride home was awsome. I shifted at high revs, the response from the car is amazing. Its a noticable difference and sounds great to. Not some fart can ricer sound but a nice deep mean rumble that isn't to loud.
