Removing the Orange turnsignal on front HL??

hey could anyone tell me hwo to take out the front orange turn signals in the front Headlights????? i have CHROME singals (they lite up orange, but loook silver/chrome) soo could anyone tell me how to do this?? thank you!!!!

well.... i would imagine it would be the same thing many people have done with their headlights. you would actually need to break the seal of the lights and take out the orange reflector that's inside the light housing. i never did this mod on the vibe, but have on my legacy. however, i will warn you that i did melt my headlight doing this with my new ones last month. make sure if you do, it's 250 ° F in the oven NO MORE THAN 5 minutes!!!!! you may want to do a search on here for painted headlights, it's the same thing, just you aren't painting the headlight, but taking out the reflector.

I think he means the light bulb itself. you should be able to get at it from under the hood.

i just painted my housing today and they look great. in order to get to the whole assembly you must preheat the oven to atleast 250 or 300 degrees. then turnoff the oven and then place your head light with a couple of towels under it so you wont melt the plastic to the racks. let the head light sit in the oven, ** oven is off by this point**, for about 10-15 min. at most then the assembly will be able to pull apart. i suggest that you remmove the two screws on the back of the head light and the bulbs aswell before you put the head light in the oven. here is the link for the whole process http://www.thewrongway.com/jdmheadlights.html

well, you can also use a heat gun if you have one. probably safer for the scaredy cats out there. j/kno really, it sucked when i destroyed my brand spanking new $300 headlight!!! but it was my fault since i was tired, cranky and didn't bother to double check the what temps and time to put the headlights in the oven. i just went off what i thought it was supposed to be.... it smelt pretty bad!it's not very difficult at all. in fact, i have to redo the current driver's side and swap out the innards of the destroyed new one (at least that is all intact) with the old ones so both headlights match. you do the same thing to reseal the lights, but i usually add some more silacon sealer first before i stick them back in the oven. then put some heat mitts on, LONG SLEEVES, and push that sucker back together again with all your might to get as tight a seal as possible!

also, here is a thread on legacygt.com that the first 2 times i did it followed to a T and had no problems. same concept as far as heating and breaking the seal, just not the same for getting the headlights out of the vibe or trix.Legacy Headlight Clearing How To
