Where to "Ground to chassis" for Ipod hard-wired in a 2004 Single CD?

Post by vibe-04 »

Help: Where can I ground to chassis my ipod hard-wired connection?I've followed all the treads and I'm still having a problem which I "believe" can be resolved with a proper ground at the head unit. I've used a 1/8" phone jack and connected to the CD's left and right channels through the 1 and 3 wire on the head unit"s board. I tried to connect the ground to the head unit's case but it didn't work. Thoughts?Andrew

It should work if it's grounded to the headunit AND the headunit is properly screwed in. Er..wait. You're trying to connect the audio ground to the chassis? That won't work. There has to be a place on the board that audio ground goes to, otherwise you won't get any signal whatsoever.

I checked around and the radio is not a sufficent ground. It is not grounded to the car. So, ground to bare metal on the chassis is the car itself. If you don't you get a ground loop and that sucks.A
