straight exhaust

Post by hondamxerd »

is a straight exhaust system better than say a good muffler( trd, or something like that) i was told that on the celica a race exhaust was actually no muffler at all, and it produced more power that way, i have always heard something about having back pressure, is this true, or is less restriction better, no other mods on my car, but within a month i am going to put an injen cai on, clue me in, thanks

A Magnaflow cat-back exhaust is the way to go. Straight exhaust would be very loud and annoying. Apparently some back pressure helps with low end torque. What year is your Vibe?

HKS seems to be http://www.matrixowners.com owners' muffler of choice when going custom. But yes, Magnaflow's cat-back is good

so in other words, a straight exhaust with no resonator and muffler would not serve any power increase? i have already removed the resonator, not really worried about the noise, just wanting more power

ok so im semi confused. does the magnaflow cat-back system include its own mid-pipe? becuase JP performance makes a mid-pipe that i think you just add a muffler too. I am trying to plan my exhaust upgrade and wanted to do ported/performance header, mid-pipe and new muffler. thanks

if I'm not mistaken when I took my magnaflow out of the box is includes from the cat back to the tip in two pieces of piping including the cat and the muffler.

the jp midpipe starts at the muffler flange includes a cat goes all the way to the header.magnaflow you cut the factory exhaust behind the cat and it includes the rest to the tip.a straight pipe will net the most power but dont go overboard on the diameter.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
