weekend project, HELP!

Ok this weekend i plan on painting my factory grille. My car is a 2006 two-tone platium, so help me decide which color to paint the grilles.!!, and also tell me what type of paint i should use, and if clear coat, prime, or anything else. - - - - I'm letting you chose the color of your choice. aso , tell me if i should ( prime , clear coat, etc.) thanks for helpin me PLEASE ADD A CHOICE BELOWThe attachment is a pic of my car......

I like the grill but not the price... a lil too much for my blood!I have a platinum vibe... and wanna paint my OEM grill too... but what kinda color do you paint to match a silver.I was thinkin of doin a gloss black or a blue... but think the blue would bee to much with the engine colors and all. and it would be the only blue on the outside! heres a pic of what the engine looks like

The finish is black but if you paint them gloss black they look darker so my choice is black

i think the purple with yellow polka dots would be an eye catcher

A word of warning. I painted my trim with Krylon satin black, and my grill with flat black bumber paint. The bumper paint is now peeling off in mass, and the trim paint has lots of pits on it. If you remove the grill to paint, the car is not drivable because the grill holds up the bumper. My advice, preparation, preparation and more preparation. You need to sand between each hole in the grill, and probably prime the entire grill before painting. Good luck. The attachment shows the grill just after painting.

I think you mean the bumper cover, don't you? I painted my grilles on my '03 and drove around without them on for a day while they dried, it didn't seem to hurt it any. maybe its different on the '05.

I used Krylon for plastic on the border, which is a different material than the grill. This has not peeled, but has a lot of tiny pits from road debris. The rest of the grill was painted with bumper black, because the grill on the 05 is a soft material, more like a bumper than hard plastic. The 05 has two pieces that snap into the bumper and is hard to remove. It has an itegral bracket that attaches to the radiator steel. Without it, the bumper just kind of flops around. I guess you could get around this temporarily with a lot of duct tape.
